
Biomethane in Ukraine: Conference on 12 June 2025
09.06.2025The conference “Biomethane in Ukraine: Opportunities and Development” highlights the growing role of biomethane in Ukraine’s energy future.
On 12 June 2025, the hybrid conference “Biomethane in Ukraine: Opportunities and Development” will be held in Kyiv and online. The event will focus on the role of biomethane in Ukraine’s energy mix and will bring together leading national and international experts.
The conference is organised by the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine in cooperation with the Energy Community and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The programme will cover:
– policy and regulatory frameworks for biomethane support,
– feedstock availability and sustainable supply,
– economic viability and financing models,
– environmental benefits and development challenges.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore successful biomethane project case studies from Ukraine.
The agenda includes three thematic sessions:

Ukraine’s First Biomethane Experiences (10:30–12:30)

Biomethane Infrastructure (13:30–15:30)

Next Steps for Biomethane Production (16:00–17:30)

– Mykola Kolisnyk (Ministry of Energy of Ukraine)
– Andriy Zhupanin (Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine)
– Taras Vysotskyi (Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine)
