Here, in the depths, magma rises so close to the surface that it creates unique conditions for efficiently converting the Earth\u2019s heat into electricity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"910\">What makes this discovery remarkable is the scale and stability of the resource. According to preliminary estimates, its potential installed capacity could reach <strong data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"681\">2,600 MW<\/strong> \u2014 enough to provide light and heat to around <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"749\">660,000 households<\/strong>. This level of generation is comparable to several modern power plants but comes with zero carbon emissions and virtually no dependence on weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1291\">The promising sites for implementing this technology cover an area of about <strong data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1016\">65,000 square kilometers<\/strong>. They are located in so-called oceanic rift zones \u2014 places where the Earth\u2019s crust is stretching, and the planet\u2019s molten interior comes relatively close to the surface. This allows engineers to design systems that directly harness magma\u2019s heat for electricity production.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1340\">The advantages of such an approach are clear:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1690\">\n<li data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1444\">\n<p data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1444\"><strong data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1358\">Reliability<\/strong> \u2014 geothermal energy is available 24\/7, without peak loads or seasonal fluctuations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1542\">\n<p data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1542\"><strong data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1473\">Environmental benefits<\/strong> \u2014 electricity production without fuel combustion or CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1690\">\n<p data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1690\"><strong data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1570\">Local energy security<\/strong> \u2014 coastal regions implementing such technologies can reduce their dependence on centralized systems and fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1880\">Experts believe that deploying this solution could become part of the global energy transition, combining the reliability of baseload generation with the advantages of renewable sources.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"2124\">For Ukraine, this example serves as an important benchmark: innovative clean energy solutions have the potential to radically reshape the energy balance, create new opportunities for regional development, and strengthen energy independence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the ocean floor, in areas where tectonic plates diverge, scientists have discovered a powerful geothermal resource that could become one of the most promising sources of clean energy in the world.
