Our partners took part in the discussion \u2014 the Ukrainian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ukrwindenergyassociation\">Wind Energy Association (UWEA)<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/uabio\">Bioenergy Association of Ukraine<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/aseu.org.ua\">Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (ASEU)<\/a>, which is a member of <strong>Global 100% RE Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"1176\">Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk emphasized that the development of renewable energy sources remains a priority for the ministry. She informed participants that the Ministry of Energy supports a number of legislative initiatives that will have a positive impact on addressing pressing issues in the renewable energy sector. These include draft laws aimed at improving competitive conditions for the production of electricity from alternative sources and enhancing market coupling.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1712\">Participants also discussed possible ways to resolve the issue of debt between market actors. First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov noted that this matter had been reviewed earlier at the Ministry in a meeting with the largest Ukrainian energy companies, with the participation of NEURC and the Ministry of Development. The participants agreed to begin work on developing operational models and tools to settle part of the existing debt to renewable energy producers and prevent the accumulation of new debts on the market.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"2025\">The First Deputy Minister invited associations to join this process, with the goal of preparing relevant models and a \u201croadmap\u201d within several weeks. After that, international financial institutions are expected to be engaged to provide the necessary resources to address these issues on the balancing market.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2301\">During the discussion, representatives of renewable energy associations raised several key issues. In particular, they called for maintaining VAT exemptions on the import of certain types of energy equipment for building new generation capacity and energy storage systems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2572\">The issue of war risk insurance was also raised. The Ministry of Energy informed that this matter is currently being actively discussed in meetings with the EBRD and EIB, and mechanisms are being developed with the participation of the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2574\" data-end=\"2948\">In addition, the participants discussed the operation of biomethane producers and possible ways to stimulate exports. One of the options is to support the cancellation of duties on renewable gas exports to countries outside the EU and the Energy Community. In particular, Switzerland and the United Kingdom were mentioned as potential major buyers of Ukrainian biomethane.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2950\" data-end=\"3354\">We welcome the Ministry of Energy\u2019s commitment to advancing legislative initiatives that create competitive conditions for renewable electricity producers and further integrate the Ukrainian market with the EU.
