As missiles destroy power plants, Ukrainian businesses are not just surviving \u2014 they\u2019re generating their own energy. Companies are changing the rules of the game: instead of relying on the grid, they\u2019re building solar power plants, installing batteries, and setting up seamless switching systems to stay operational even during outages.
This isn\u2019t just about saving money \u2014 it\u2019s about ensuring the country\u2019s stability.<\/p>\n

\u2600\ufe0f Building a New Energy Resilience<\/h3>\n

After the wave of blackouts in 2022, it became clear: diesel generators are not a strategy \u2014 they\u2019re a temporary lifeline. True energy independence means local generation, backup systems, and smart energy management.
Businesses implementing these solutions can seamlessly switch between the grid, their own solar power, and backup sources \u2014 keeping operations running even in the most critical moments.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfe2 Leaders of Corporate Energy Independence: EVA, Avrora, VARUS, Epicenter and OKKO<\/h3>\n

Avrora<\/a>\u00a0and VARUS<\/a> have already become symbols of Ukraine\u2019s green transition. They\u2019re investing tens of millions of hryvnias in solar plants that cover up to 90% of daytime consumption \u2014 with surplus power fed back into the grid.\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Epicenter<\/a> is also rapidly developing its own generation. The company currently operates nine solar power plants with a combined capacity of 15 MW, and plans to expand this to 108 MW by 2030. Construction is already underway for another 30 MW, with total investments estimated at $44 million \u2014 making Epicenter one of Ukraine\u2019s largest private investors in solar energy.\"\"<\/p>\n

OKKO<\/a> has now equipped 244 of its more than 400 gas stations with rooftop solar plants \u2014 adding 40 new stations in just six months, as well as one on the building of its transport division.\"\"
The network\u2019s total solar capacity has reached 5.9 MW. In 2025, the company is investing \u20b430 million (including VAT) to install solar systems at 100 additional stations, wherever technically possible.<\/p>\n

Most installations have capacities between 15\u201325 kW, while some reach 50\u201365 kW. They cover 15\u201355% of daily electricity demand at each gas station during peak generation.
Even in the retail fuel sector, a new standard of energy independence is emerging \u2014 local solar generation as a core part of infrastructure.<\/p>\n
