A New Level of Energy Thinking<\/h3>\n

On November 5, Oleksandr Dombrovskyi<\/a>, Deputy Chairman of the Board of MHP<\/a>, President of MHP Eco Energy<\/a>, and Chairman of the Board of Global 100% RE Ukraine<\/a>, presented his vision of the role of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Ukraine\u2019s future energy landscape.
Speaking<\/a> ahead of the Energy Club Forum<\/a> \u201cEnergy of Freedom: Resilience and New Opportunities for the Energy Storage Market in Ukraine\u201d, he outlined the shift from reactive recovery of the power system toward its structural transformation.<\/p>\n

According to the expert, the experience of MHP Eco Energy<\/a> demonstrates how business can achieve energy independence. The agroholding is already implementing large-scale renewable projects, and the integration of BESS is the next logical step toward building an autonomous and resilient infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSolar energy combined with BESS ensures continuous operation even during outages and significantly reduces electricity costs. It\u2019s not just about economics \u2014 it\u2019s about energy security,\u201d said Dombrovskyi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Synergy of Bioenergy and Storage<\/h3>\n

MHP<\/a> owns one of the largest biogas facilities in Europe, raising the question \u2014 why batteries too? The answer lies in synergy. Bioenergy provides stable generation, while BESS adds flexibility and the ability to respond to peak loads. Together, they form a model of distributed generation that is resilient to attacks, climate risks, and market fluctuations.<\/p>\n

\u201cDistributed generation is the new survival model for Ukraine\u2019s power system,\u201d he emphasized<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Challenges and Barriers<\/h3>\n

The main obstacle to the development of BESS in Ukraine remains military risks, which threaten any energy facility. The second challenge is the cost of technology \u2014 Chinese systems are more affordable, while European ones offer higher reliability. The third factor is the lack of investment and the need for regulatory guarantees to protect assets during wartime.<\/p>\n

Despite these challenges, Dombrovskyi<\/a> is confident that within the next five years, the energy storage market will become one of the most dynamic segments of Ukraine\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n

Ukraine as a Green Benchmark<\/h3>\n

BESS are not just a technological innovation \u2014 they are the foundation of future energy independence. They combine renewables, security, and efficiency, creating the basis for a 100% renewable energy system.<\/p>\n

\u201cUkraine has a 100% chance to become energy independent. After victory, we will show the world an example of clean, resilient energy,\u201d emphasized the head of<\/a> Global 100% RE Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This statement<\/a> is not only an expert position but also a strategic signal:
BESS are becoming the cornerstone of Ukraine\u2019s new energy security architecture.
Just as wind turbines and biogas plants once marked the beginning of the energy transition, energy storage systems now define its maturity.<\/p>\n
