\nAt the forum \u201cEnergy of Freedom: Resilience and New Opportunities of the BESS Market\u201d<\/a><\/strong>, one of the key speeches came from Oleksandr Dombrovskyi<\/strong><\/a>, Deputy Chairman of the Board of MHP<\/a> and President of MHP Eco Energy<\/a>.<\/strong> His address offered a systemic view of what must change in Ukraine\u2019s energy sector now \u2014 and why the war has completely transformed our national energy agenda.<\/p>\n

The war destroyed the old model \u2014 a new vision is required<\/p>\n

Dombrovskyi <\/a>began with a core message:<\/p>\n

\u201cDiscussing energy policy in wartime and in peacetime are two entirely different philosophies.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The daily destruction of energy infrastructure, he noted, has erased the old market model. The system where 55% was nuclear, 30% coal, 12% hydro and the rest renewables no longer works because thermal generation has been essentially lost.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Ukraine needs a new system of distributed generation, where units of 2\u20133 MW become more important than large plants that are easy targets for attacks.<\/p>\n

BESS \u2014 the heart of the new energy system<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Building a resilient energy architecture is impossible without storage:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cEnergy storage systems are the key elements of this new system.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dombrovskyi<\/a> emphasized that MHP<\/a> already has practical experience:<\/p>\n

an industrial BESS + 10 MW of solar,<\/p>\n

15 integrated storage projects,<\/p>\n

hybrid solutions for biogas and biomass complexes,<\/p>\n

an in-house laboratory working with various storage technologies.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSolar + storage works like a Swiss clock. It\u2019s a unique product and a unique project.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

A model of energy freedom: solar, biomass, biogas, wind and BESS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In recent years, MHP<\/a> has built one of the largest private clusters of decentralized energy:<\/p>\n

5.5 MW biogas plant (2013),<\/strong><\/p>\n

12 MW biogas plant (2019),<\/strong><\/p>\n

800 MW solar potential on rooftops,<\/strong><\/p>\n

a future 60+ MW wind farm,<\/strong><\/p>\n

BESS of various configurations and functions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This model exists not for the market, but for security:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe generate everything for ourselves. For us, energy independence is fundamental.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/h2>\n

<\/h2>\n

A challenge to the state: where are the large storage projects?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dombrovskyi<\/a> stated openly:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe state only talks. I don\u2019t know a single government project for 100, 200 or 500 MW of BESS.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Such projects, he noted, could quickly strengthen the system with support from U.S. and EU partners.<\/p>\n

The most important resource today is speed<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cThe world is accelerating. AI, GPT \u2014 everything changes instantly. We need to act now.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The war makes the market unpredictable. Ukraine cannot afford slow decisions or inertia.<\/p>\n

Dombrovskyi\u2019s<\/a> position outlines a new ideology of energy resilience:
distributed generation + local resources + BESS = Ukraine\u2019s wartime model.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Global 100 RE Ukraine<\/strong><\/a>, this confirms that the country is moving toward an architecture where:<\/p>\n

-energy freedom is based on local solutions,<\/p>\n

-BESS is not an addition but the core of the system,<\/p>\n
