According to the IEA and Global LNG Hub, the sector has entered a new phase where new capacity is being added faster than fossil-fuel technologies remain economically viable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"821\">Biomethane is no longer just an add-on to renewables\u2014it is becoming a strategic resource for energy systems.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"889\"><strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"889\">Market Leaders: The US, Europe, and Emerging Economies<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The United States \u2014 A Global Center for RNG Growth<\/p>\n<p>Since becoming the world\u2019s largest producer of renewable natural gas (RNG) in 2019, the United States has continued to expand at record speed. In 2025, new projects in the transport and industrial sectors drove the highest demand for RNG.<\/p>\n<p>Europe \u2014 An Energy Renaissance<\/p>\n<p>The EU is experiencing a second wave of biomethane investment: in 2025, the region operates 1,678 biomethane facilities.<br data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1368\" \/>France is Europe\u2019s new frontrunner, with nearly 70% growth since 2022. Denmark and Germany remain global leaders in injecting biomethane into natural gas grids.<br data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1535\" \/>Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom also show rapid scaling, driven by strong agricultural sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Emerging Economies: Brazil and India<\/p>\n<p>Large agricultural markets, government incentives, and decarbonization policies are creating conditions for dozens of large-scale biomethane projects.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"1920\"><strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1920\">Policy Is Transforming Energy: Why the Market Is Growing Twice as Fast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1922\" data-end=\"2033\">The IEA confirms that biomethane growth rates have doubled over the past five years.<br data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2013\" \/>Key drivers include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2264\">\n<li data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2092\">\n<p data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2092\">stricter methane-emission standards in the US and EU;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2169\">\n<p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2169\">new incentives for RNG projects in industry, transport, and agriculture;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2170\" data-end=\"2226\">\n<p data-start=\"2172\" data-end=\"2226\">modernization of gas networks and upgrading systems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2264\">\n<p data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2264\">rising CO\u2082-permit prices in Europe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2266\" data-end=\"2408\">At the same time, the EU is tightening controls on methane leakage\u2014an essential condition to ensure that \u201cgreen gas\u201d remains truly low-carbon.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2415\" data-end=\"2482\"><strong data-start=\"2418\" data-end=\"2482\">Ukraine in the Global Trend: A New Bioenergy Industrial Park<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2484\" data-end=\"2776\">The global wave of biomethane and bioenergy development is already visible in Ukraine. At the end of 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers added a new industrial park to the national Register: \u201cDionis Energo Eco Park\u201d in Zhytomyr Region.<br data-start=\"2718\" data-end=\"2721\" \/>This is the region\u2019s first specialized park focused on:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"2870\">\n<li data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"2789\">\n<p data-start=\"2780\" data-end=\"2789\">biogas;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2790\" data-end=\"2805\">\n<p data-start=\"2792\" data-end=\"2805\">biomethane;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2806\" data-end=\"2821\">\n<p data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2821\">bioethanol;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2822\" data-end=\"2848\">\n<p data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"2848\">bioplastic production;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2849\" data-end=\"2870\">\n<p data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"2870\">alternative energy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2872\" data-end=\"3140\">The park is established for 30 years on an area of 13.2 hectares.<br data-start=\"2945\" data-end=\"2948\" \/>Three investors are already joining the project:<br data-start=\"2996\" data-end=\"2999\" \/>\u201cUkraina 2001\u201d, \u201cTeofipol Energy Company\u201d, and \u201cFirst Podillia Energy Company.\u201d<br data-start=\"3082\" data-end=\"3085\" \/>Total investments are estimated at 800 million UAH.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3142\" data-end=\"3279\">This is the first case demonstrating that Ukraine\u2019s bioenergy sector is moving along the same growth trajectory as the US and Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3329\" data-end=\"3656\">The global achievement of 10 billion m\u00b3 of biomethane is more than a record\u2014it is proof that the \u201cgreen molecule\u201d is becoming a key element of the new energy system.<br data-start=\"3498\" data-end=\"3501\" \/>With the emergence of bioenergy industrial parks and the launch of its first biomethane projects, Ukraine shows readiness to follow this global trajectory.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3658\" data-end=\"3873\">For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100REUA\"><strong data-start=\"3662\" data-end=\"3687\">Global 100 RE Ukraine<\/strong><\/a>, this means one thing:<br data-start=\"3710\" data-end=\"3713\" \/><strong data-start=\"3713\" data-end=\"3873\">biomethane is becoming a strategic direction where Ukraine can gain a competitive advantage in the coming years\u2014as part of the global energy transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Global Record: 10 Billion m\u00b3 in 2024\u20132025 The world has entered a phase of rapid expansion in the \u201cgreen gas\u201d market.
