The global residential energy storage market is forecast to add 46.1 GWh of new capacity in 2026, with Europe accounting for 15.4 GWh of that total \u2014 retaining its position as the world’s most active region for home battery deployment.<\/p>\n
Across Western Europe, established markets such as Germany, Austria, and Italy are holding at stable levels. Meanwhile, Eastern Europe is rapidly emerging as a new demand hub, with Ukraine among the most prominent drivers of regional growth.<\/p>\n
Globally, the geographic balance is shifting. Asia-Pacific and Oceania are closing in on European volumes. Australia is a standout: its Cheaper Home Batteries subsidy program, launched in July 2025, is projected to make the country the single largest national residential storage market in the world by the close of 2026.<\/p>\n
On the supply side, Asian brands dominate. According to InfoLink Consulting, Fox ESS, Sigenergy, and Deye led global shipments in the first half of the year. Deye has built strong footholds in Ukraine and Poland, and is also expanding in Pakistan and the Philippines \u2014 markets where frequent outages and high electricity tariffs are fuelling demand for off-grid-capable solutions.<\/p>\n
Despite the top-three vendors’ collective strength, the sector remains fragmented. No manufacturer has pulled decisively ahead, and the gaps between leading competitors are narrow \u2014 leaving the next phase of market growth still sharply contested.<\/p>\n
