The Solar Energy Industries Association and the Coalition for Community Solar Access have agreed to combine into a single organization, with the formal merger set to take effect in early October.<\/p>\n

The two groups say the consolidation will allow the broader solar and energy storage sector to speak with one voice across both state and federal arenas. SEIA CEO Tim Pawlenty said bringing CCSA into the fold creates unified representation and strengthens advocacy for every segment of the industry.<\/p>\n

Under the terms of the deal, CCSA’s current staff and ongoing work will be folded directly into SEIA’s structure. CCSA CEO Jeff Kramer will not continue with the combined organization. The merged entity is expected to operate under the SEIA name and will represent both large utility-scale projects and distributed generation at all levels of government.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes as the U.S. solar market shows sharply divergent trends. Community solar capacity crossed the 10 GW milestone by late 2025, yet new community solar installations fell 25% over the same period. Total national solar additions, meanwhile, rose 45%, driven almost entirely by utility-scale development.<\/p>\n
