French hydrogen producer Lhyfe and German green hydrogen developer H2APEX have announced an expanded commercial agreement, committing to supply up to 100 tonnes of certified renewable hydrogen annually over the next two years.<\/p>\n
The deal extends an earlier working relationship between the two companies. Under the new terms, Lhyfe will deliver hydrogen that meets RFNBO certification \u2014 Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin \u2014 a classification that carries official EU recognition for fuel produced through renewable-powered electrolysis. H2APEX will use the supply to serve industrial customers and mobility operators in Germany.<\/p>\n
Both parties cited converging market forces behind the agreement: rising demand from transport fleets and manufacturing facilities, alongside tightening regulatory requirements for renewable fuel content. Together, these factors are compressing deployment timelines and putting pressure on developers to secure dependable supply chains well in advance.<\/p>\n
Germany, where H2APEX operates green hydrogen production and distribution infrastructure, is considered one of Europe’s most active hydrogen markets. The companies frame the partnership as a step toward building a commercially viable, end-to-end hydrogen value chain for mobility and industry at the European scale.<\/p>\n
Lhyfe has positioned itself as an early-stage producer focused on decarbonising transport and industrial processes; H2APEX develops and operates hydrogen installations across industry, infrastructure, and mobility segments. The expanded supply contract is intended to strengthen the availability of certified renewable hydrogen at both sectors across the country.<\/p>\n
