Agribusiness can become one of the drivers of Ukraine’s new energy sector — Oleksandr Dombrovskyi
Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Global 100% RE Ukraine, participated as a keynote speaker in the training session “Cogeneration and Bioenergy for Agribusiness,” organized within the USAID AGRO Program with the support of the US Government and Chemonics.
During his speech, he emphasized that the Ukrainian agricultural sector possesses significant potential for developing its own generation capacity and can play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s new energy model.
Particular attention was paid to integrated decentralized energy solutions that combine bioenergy, cogeneration, solar generation, and energy storage systems. Such technologies allow agricultural enterprises to enhance their energy independence, reduce production costs, and strengthen business resilience to energy challenges.
“Agribusiness has all the prerequisites to become one of the drivers of Ukraine’s new energy sector. The combination of bioenergy, cogeneration, solar generation, and storage systems not only increases the energy independence of enterprises but also creates new opportunities for the development of communities and the country’s economy,” stated Oleksandr Dombrovskyi.

Training participants discussed practical approaches to deploying on-site generation, efficient utilization of biomass, operating in the electricity market, as well as mechanisms for attracting financing to implement energy projects.
The event served as a platform for exchanging practical experience among agricultural sector representatives, experts, and energy industry specialists. The development of modern energy solutions in agribusiness is a vital component of increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian agriculture, strengthening community energy resilience, and accelerating Ukraine’s transition to a decentralized, low-carbon energy sector.
