Small thermal power plants, boiler houses, generators and solar systems for hospitals, schools, and community centers will be purchased for €70 million.

This was reported by “Ukrainian Energy” with reference to the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.

The funds will be used to provide cities and villages of Ukraine with their own facilities. As a result, community centers, hospitals, schools, and other social institutions will receive a safer and more independent energy supply.

Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Svenja Schulze emphasized that Russia wants to drive Ukrainians from their land with its attacks on energy facilities.

“We support Ukraine in rebuilding the energy supply in a decentralized way, because then Russia will not be able to destroy it so easily,” she added.

The aid will go to communities whose energy and heating supplies have been severely damaged by Russian attacks. Special attention will be paid to communities where IDPs have settled.
