Artificial intelligence and new legislation: what was discussed at the European Biogas Conference
04.11.2024At the end of October, the European Biogas Conference 2024 took place in Brussels. This is a flagship event that brings together industry leaders and policy makers to shape the future of biogas and biomethane in Europe.
The conference was attended by Anna Pastukh, legal expert of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine. Based on the results of the trip, UABIO has prepared a voluminous material with all the key information from the event.
Here are some important points from the speeches and presentations of the two days:
- It is necessary to clearly define the benefits of biogas, provide it with new investments and an improved regulatory framework.
- The biogas industry is a vivid example of what a circular economy is, which combines so many components.
- The use of biogas is expected to expand globally in the near future, and Europe will be a leader in the production of green gases.
- Biogas can play a crucial role in the transition to net-zero, as not everything can be done with electricity.
- The EU is preparing for a new legislative period, where one of the key priorities will be the implementation of a green industrial agreement.
- The target of 35 billion cubic meters of biomethane production is a realistic goal.
