The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration has signed a memorandum with a Turkish company to build a large-scale wind farm project.

“This will be another important step towards the formation of a threat-resistant energy system in the region. That is why the development of alternative energy sources is important for our communities,” said Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.

According to him, if the project is implemented, Zhytomyr region’s alternative energy capacity can be supplemented by an additional 100-200 MW of generation. And local budgets will receive steady additional revenues from the company’s work and new jobs.

Investors from Turkey already have experience in the renewable energy sector in Ukraine, so business scaling can be done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Studies are currently planned to determine wind flows for the installation of future towers.

The name of the company is not disclosed, but in 2024 it was reported that the Turkish company Atlas Global Energy intends to build new wind farms in the region.
