“AI as a New Industrial Revolution: A Chance for Ukraine”

The world stands on the brink of a transformation that many experts already compare to the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century. However, as Viktor Halasiuk emphasized during the Green Energy Club discussion, the impact of artificial intelligence may prove even greater.

AI is not just another technological innovation. It represents a fundamental shift in the logic of the economy. It sets new rules of competition, creates leaders, and simultaneously sidelines those who fail to adapt. If industrialization once made industrial capacity the key advantage, today it is the speed of working with data, the ability to make decisions based on algorithms that learn faster than humans.

For Ukraine, this is both a challenge and a unique opportunity. We don’t necessarily need to compete with global tech giants in building basic models or “hardware.” Instead, we can integrate ready-made AI solutions into business, energy, finance, project management, and even public governance. This is where the greatest potential for action lies.

Artificial intelligence can radically transform energy system management, forecasting renewable generation, optimizing consumption, and maintaining networks. For companies, this means lower costs, higher productivity, and faster responses to challenges. For the state, it creates the chance to build a modern digital economy, independent of imported resources.

The key message: participation in this new “industrial race” is possible even without billion-dollar investments or large-scale state programs. Businesses that embrace AI today will gain a competitive edge tomorrow.

Those who learn to work with these new tools will come out ahead. Those who remain on the sidelines risk sharing the fate of companies that failed to survive previous technological revolutions.

Ukraine has the chance not to play catch-up but to become part of the global transformation right now — by using AI as a strategic tool for development and recovery.
