Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Global 100% RE Ukraine, was a keynote speaker at the training session “Cogeneration and Bioenergy for Agricultural Business.” The event was organized under the USAID Agriculture Growing Rural Opportunities Activity (AGRO Program) with the support of the US Government and Chemonics International.
During the presentation, participants discussed the prospects for the development of bioenergy, cogeneration, and decentralized generation as tools to enhance the energy independence of agricultural enterprises and local communities.
According to Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, the Ukrainian agricultural sector possesses all the necessary prerequisites to become not only a leading food producer but also one of the largest producers of clean energy in Europe.
“Agribusiness has every prerequisite to become a driver of Ukraine’s new energy sector. The combination of bioenergy, cogeneration, solar generation, and energy storage systems not only enhances the energy independence of enterprises but also creates new opportunities for the development of communities and the country’s economy,” Oleksandr Dombrovskyi emphasized.
Special attention during the training was paid to integrated decentralized energy solutions that enable agricultural enterprises to improve their economic efficiency, strengthen energy resilience, and reduce dependence on traditional energy sources.
The event participants also reviewed practical models for developing self-generation, opportunities for biomass utilization, operations in the electricity market, as well as financing mechanisms for energy projects.
Global 100% RE Ukraine is convinced that the synergy of bioenergy, cogeneration, solar generation, and energy storage systems unlocks new opportunities for the agricultural sector and contributes to the formation of a modern, decentralized, and energy-resilient Ukrainian economy.
