The Association of Solar Energy of Ukraine (ASEU) has announced an open session of its Energy Storage Committee, scheduled for 27 August at 11:00 via Zoom. The event is being held jointly with iSolar, an integrated alternative-energy developer.

The session will be moderated by Serhiy Ruchko, who chairs the ASEU Energy Storage Committee. Speakers from iSolar include Oleksandr Bilyi, head of iSolar Partner Hub, and Andriy Kvasnivsky, who leads the company’s energy trading direction.

Discussions will focus on evolving client demands across the residential and commercial-and-industrial segments. Participants will examine how modern battery energy storage systems can be deployed beyond conventional backup applications, and explore the broader shift from energy management toward active energy trading. New models for managing energy assets are also on the agenda.

At the close of the session, iSolar Academy plans to present two new training courses aimed at installers and distributors:

  • A course covering solar power plant equipment — from selection through commissioning
  • A course on energy trading, addressing Ukraine’s electricity market and practical trading strategies

The event reflects a widening conversation in Ukraine’s renewables sector about repositioning storage technology as an active market tool rather than a passive safety net — a transition that carries implications for both private households and commercial operators.
