Government allocates green energy quotas for 2025
02.12.2024The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decree on “Some issues of holding auctions for the allocation of renewable energy support quotas for 2025 and establishing indicative forecasts of annual support quotas for 2026-2029.”
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, the allocation of annual renewable energy support quotas at auctions in 2025 provides for
- 33 MW – solar energy;
- 250 MW – wind energy;
- 47 MW – other types of alternative energy sources (except for wind, solar, blast furnace and coke oven gas, and hydropower – produced only by micro, mini and small hydroelectric power plants).
In addition, the Government has set maximum price offers at auctions in 2025:
- 8 euro cents per kWh for solar and wind power plants,
- 12 euro cents per kWh for other types of alternative energy sources.
The decree also sets a schedule for the relevant auctions in 2025 and defines indicative forecasts of annual renewable energy support quotas for 2026-2029.
