More than 800 MW of wind power may be built in Ukraine next year
18.11.2024Last week, an international exhibition and conference ReBuild Ukraine Construction and Energy took place in Warsaw, with the aim of joining forces to restore Ukraine’s economy.
After the conference, Economy Minister Herman Galushchenko said in an interview with Ukrinform that the ministry plans to significantly increase wind generation in Ukraine in 2025. In particular, a 300 MW project is being discussed with the Norwegians.
‘In terms of green energy, of course, we intend to increase wind generation very significantly next year. There are plans to build specific wind generation facilities for more than 800 mW. By the way, our western partners showed considerable interest in wind power generation at this conference. In particular, we talked about this with our Norwegian colleagues, who are now considering a large 300 MW project in Ukraine, which is specifically about wind energy,’ said Galushchenko.
The Minister added that solar energy is also not forgotten. In particular, the ministry expects that next year, programmes for households will be actively launched, and people will actually install solar panels. As an incentive, they will be able to get loans at a zero rate for 10 years.
