Official Launch Webinar of the European Project ANEW-LIFE
15.05.2025On May 13, 2025, an official webinar was held to launch the European project ANEW-LIFE, aimed at supporting the restoration and decarbonization of Ukraine’s energy system. The event brought together over 100 representatives from the energy sector and Ukrainian communities to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing cities that have chosen the path toward sustainable energy. The webinar was held online with simultaneous interpretation in Ukrainian and English.
Ukrainian participants included:
Tetyana Senkiv (Kalush City Council), Olha Kruglyak (Zhytomyr City Council), Denys Vorona (Nizhyn City Council), Artem Hanushchak (Deputy Mayor of Rivne, Rivne City Council), Yurii Fomichev (Mayor of Slavutych, Slavutych City Council), Yaroslava Denysova (EcoClub), Viktoriia Kovalenko (DiXi Group), and Oksana Kysil (expert with the Covenant of Mayors – East 2 programme).
European partners of the ANEW-LIFE project who shared their experience included:
Roberta Alonso and Marta Lupattelli (InGreen), Alexandra Hedesiu (EnerSave Capital), Hannes Breese (Climate Alliance / Klima Bundis), and Marko Svetina (FifthVolt GmbH).
The webinar was moderated by:
Oleksii Korchmit (Director, Global 100% RE Ukraine) and Tetyana Kramarenko (Project Administrator, ANEW-LIFE).
Participants discussed the current status of activities in the three pilot cities, their first steps, and early achievements. A key focus of the discussion was the exploration of European best practices in implementing financial instruments for clean energy projects.
Representatives of three European companies — EnerSave Capital, Climate Alliance / Klima Bundis, and FifthVolt GmbH — shared practical examples of project implementation in countries such as Italy, Austria, Germany, Romania, Belgium, and others. They also discussed current challenges and opportunities relevant to Ukrainian communities.
Participants unanimously emphasized the importance of adapting European experience to the Ukrainian context, especially in the conditions of wartime, and recognized the need to develop a national policy framework that would enable similar initiatives in Ukraine.
We express our sincere gratitude to all speakers, participants, coordinators, and partners who contributed to the preparation and delivery of this important event.
Special thanks to the moderators — Oleksii Korchmit and Tetyana Kramarenko — for their professionalism during the event.
Stay tuned for updates!
