The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution according to which blackout schedules will not apply to consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting on April 6.

“In this way, the state stimulates the energy autonomy of business. This is an important element of our energy sustainability,” Shmyhal said.

He also added that the state has introduced a package of programs and measures to accelerate the development of decentralized generation to ensure an adequate level of preparation for the winter period.

“These include loans to businesses and citizens for the creation of alternative energy, duty-free import of power equipment, and simplification of bureaucratic procedures for launching generation facilities. We continue this work on a regular basis,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Earlier, the Government published the text of the Strategy for the Development of Distributed Generation until 2035 and the operational plan for its implementation in 2024-2026.
