The Verkhovna Rada implemented preferences for the import of energy equipment to Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in general draft laws No. 11258 and No. 11259 on granting customs duty and value added tax (VAT) exemptions for the import of energy equipment into the customs territory of Ukraine.

According to the list specified in the documents, the goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine (including those sent in international postal and express shipments) classified under the following codes according to the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity are exempt from taxation until the end of martial law:

• 8406 – steam turbines (except for 8406 10 00 00 – turbines for ship power plants);
• 8410 – hydraulic turbines and their parts;
• 8483 40 21 00 – spur and helical gears;
• 8502 20 40 90, 8502 20 60 90, 8502 20 80 90 – power generating sets with a piston engine (except for those intended for civil aviation);
• 8411 – gas turbines;
• 8501 64 00 00 – engines and generators, electric (except for electric generator sets) with a capacity of more than 750 kVxA;
• 8504 40 84 00, 8504 40 88 00, 8504 40 90 00 – inverters (except for inverter welding machines);
• 8507 60 00 00 – lithium-ion batteries (except for energy storage installations with a capacity of less than 300 W AC and DC and individual lithium-ion cells with a capacity of less than 200 Ah);
• 8541 43 00 00 – solar electric panels;
• 8537 – consoles, switchboards for controlling or distributing electric current (except for those intended for cars – 8537 10 98 10);
• 8503 00 99 00 – parts for wind power generating units.

In general, Laws No. 11258 and No. 11259 concern the abolition of tax and customs duties for the production and/or repair of mechanized demining machines. They were voted for by 305 and 313 MPs respectively. However, these laws also contain amendments that provide for exemption from customs duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment into Ukraine.
