Ukraine — The Energy Bridge Between Europe and the World: Highlights from the Gateway Forum 2025 in Poland
21.10.2025On October 16, 2025, the city of Kielce (Poland) hosted the Gateway Forum 2025 — an international economic and energy event that brought together leaders from the energy, business, and policy sectors across Central Europe.
Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Global 100% RE Ukraine and President of MHP Eco Energy, took part in the forum, presenting Ukraine’s vision as a key player in Europe’s green transformation.
“Ukraine has the potential to become an innovative energy bridge between Europe and the world — a country where a new architecture of renewable energy is being built, based on biomethane, green hydrogen, distributed energy systems, and advanced storage technologies,”
— emphasized Dombrovskyi during his speech.
🔋 Ukraine as a Hub of Innovation — Not Just Reconstruction
Forum participants underlined that Europe’s future energy security is closely tied to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian experience of operating its energy system under wartime conditions demonstrated that resilience, decentralization, and autonomy are the foundation of modern energy systems.
Ukraine is increasingly viewed as a laboratory of solutions capable of making Europe cleaner, safer, and more energy independent.
“Ukraine is not just a territory of recovery. It is a space of innovation, partnership, and the future,”
— noted Dombrovskyi.
💬 International Dialogue and Partnership
During the panel discussion “Distributed and Island Energy Systems — A Foundation for Energy Security?”, participants discussed the growing role of local energy networks in ensuring regional stability.
Among the speakers were:
-
Dr. Jerzy Markowski, former Deputy Minister of Economy of Poland
-
Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat (Vienna)
-
Jakub Maceja, President of the Polish Chamber of Renewable Energy
-
and other distinguished experts.
The forum also included a meeting with former President of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who emphasized Ukraine’s crucial role in strengthening the region’s energy stability.
🌱 The Future of Green Geopolitics
The Gateway Forum became a key platform for strategic dialogue between Ukraine, Poland, and EU countries on the future of the energy transition.
Discussions highlighted that Ukraine can become a central element of Europe’s new green architecture, based on renewable energy, bioenergy, and green hydrogen.
Global 100% RE Ukraine will continue to strengthen international cooperation, promoting the vision of 100% renewable energy and fostering partnerships that advance Ukraine’s energy independence and resilience.
