Ukrainian Wind Energy Gains Momentum: UWEA’s 2025 Activity Summary
23.10.2025On October 21, 2025, an online meeting of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) was held under the chairmanship of Andriy Konechenkov. During the meeting, participants summarized the results of the year and the third quarter, outlined development priorities, and presented new directions shaping the future architecture of the sector.
Growth of the community — a sign of trust in the sector
In 2025, 35 new members joined the Association, representing various segments of the wind energy value chain — from technology developers to legal and financial advisors.
“The growing number of members and partners demonstrates a strong and steady interest in the industry, even under the difficult conditions of war,” emphasized Andriy Konechenkov. “Renewable energy remains a promising direction for Ukraine’s sustainable development.”
Expanding horizons: energy storage and distributed generation
One of the key results of the third quarter was the update of the UWEA Statute. The Association’s activities now also cover energy storage systems (ESS) and distributed generation — areas that play a crucial role in building flexible and resilient energy systems.
The updated Statute incorporates the provisions of Law of Ukraine No. 3606-IX “On Lobbying”, marking an important step toward greater transparency and ethical representation of industry interests.
In parallel, UWEA adopted an updated Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, introducing modern standards of corporate culture, integrity, and partnership among its members.
Leadership updates
As part of the meeting, a scheduled election was held for the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Board.
Ivan Bondarchuk (LCF Law Group) was elected to the position, succeeding Oleksandr Podprugin (Notus Energy).
The Association expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Podprugin for his years of dedicated work and contribution to the development of the sector, and wished the newly elected deputy success and inspiration in strengthening UWEA’s positions both in Ukraine and internationally.
Moving forward despite challenges
Board members shared recent updates from their companies, noting that the industry continues to demonstrate resilience, professionalism, and growth even amid wartime challenges. New projects are being implemented, investors maintain interest, and companies continue to test innovative business models.
Wind — the energy of Ukraine’s renewal
The Ukrainian Wind Energy Association extends its gratitude to all members for their trust, commitment, and contribution. Together, they are building a new energy landscape for Ukraine — renewable, decentralized, and resilient.
Today, Ukrainian wind energy proves that even in times of war, the nation continues its path toward energy independence. Wind becomes not only a source of electricity but also a symbol of renewal, collaboration, and faith in recovery. Step by step, companies, associations, and communities are shaping a new energy ecosystem for Ukraine — open, European, and innovative.
