UWEA signed a Memorandum of Partnership with the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences
24.10.2024On October 23, 2024, a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation was signed in Kyiv between the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
According to the UWEA, the parties have confirmed their desire to focus joint efforts on the efficient and balanced development of Ukraine’s energy sector, its “green” transformation and post-war recovery.
The two organizations agreed to share practices and experience in the use of wind energy, research modern wind energy technologies, and work to build the capacity of the national wind energy industry.
“The modern wind energy sector today requires, among other things, a high-quality scientific view and approach. Especially in planning the effective integration of wind generation into the general energy system of Ukraine and the development of the national wind energy industry,” commented Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, ”That is why broad cooperation with various institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has always been welcomed by our Association. I am convinced that the partnership with the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine will not be limited solely by the provisions of the signed Memorandum, as both parties have both professional and technical resources to implement diverse projects and ideas. In particular, the Institute has a powerful material and technical base for systematic analysis and forecasting of energy development and energy consumption, as well as monitoring and diagnostics of the technical condition and environment of energy systems and facilities, which can be extremely interesting for the further development of the industry.”
In his turn, Vitaliy Babak, Director of the Institute of General Energy, noted that the signing of the memorandum is an important step towards the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
“Wind energy is one of the key components of the energy transition we are striving to implement in our country, given the climate challenges and the need to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources. Our cooperation will allow us to combine the scientific potential of the Institute and the practical experience of the association, which will contribute to the development of new technologies, research and implementation of innovative solutions in the field of wind energy.I am confident that by working together we will be able to promote the sustainable development of the industry and increase Ukraine’s energy security,” said Babak. The UWEA states that it is pleased to see the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine among its reliable partners and looks forward to fruitful cooperation for the benefit of Ukraine.
