On September 9–10, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Forum 2025, organized by the UWEA, brought together government, business, and international partners. The event marked an important step in Ukraine’s transition to 100% renewable energy. The forum demonstrated that wind power today is not only about the economy, but also about independence, security, and recovery.

Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, emphasized that wind is a symbol of Ukraine’s resilience and unbreakable spirit. Despite the war, new wind farms are being built, proving the vitality of the energy sector.

EU Commissioner Dan Jørgensen stressed: “The wind is on our side. With EU support, Ukraine is moving toward greater energy security, sovereignty, and a competitive green economy.” This reaffirmed that the European Union stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine on its path to green transformation.

First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov outlined the key task for the coming years: integrating Ukraine’s wind energy into the European market. This requires grid development, energy storage systems, and partnerships built on trust.

Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, highlighted the role of regions: they are creating new jobs and proving that investing in freedom is possible even in the most difficult times.

José Luis Jimeno, Regional President of Vestas, underlined that wind is a force of transformation, recovery, and hope. He noted that those who invest today are shaping the future of Ukraine’s energy independence. According to him, launching new wind projects during wartime is a unique achievement that inspires the world.

Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, pointed out that Ukraine’s drive for decentralization and decarbonization inspires all of Europe. The European wind industry is ready to support Ukraine’s market, while clear rules and transparency will be key to attracting investment.

👉 The forum has ended, but its outcomes outlined clear priorities: integration with Europe, scaling up investment, and establishing wind energy as a cornerstone of Ukraine’s green recovery.
