Access to financing could become one of the key drivers of investment in on-site solar power generation among Ukrainian businesses.

Global 100 RE Ukraine has published an article highlighting a new joint financing program launched by OTP Bank and Unisolar to support investments in solar power plants and commercial and industrial battery energy storage systems (BESS). The program offers businesses an interest rate of 0.01% per annum for the first seven months, with financing available for up to 84 months under Ukraine’s “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” program.

In the latest episode of 100GREEN Talks, Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, discusses the importance of affordable financing instruments for the development of distributed generation and whether such programs can accelerate business investment in on-site energy infrastructure.

For businesses, this is about more than just electricity costs. On-site solar generation combined with battery storage is increasingly becoming a tool for strengthening energy resilience, ensuring backup power supply, and reducing dependence on the centralized electricity system.

Can affordable financing make on-site power generation more accessible and widespread among Ukrainian businesses, and what else is needed to scale up such investments? Watch the latest episode of 100GREEN Talks to find out.
