The Ministry of Health of Ukraine plans to purchase and install solar power plants in 130 primary healthcare facilities within five months.

These are complete sets of solar panels, inverters and batteries that will ensure the stability of healthcare facilities.

The equipment will be installed in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

“Regular attacks on civilian infrastructure by the enemy jeopardize the proper functioning of our medical system. That is why we are working to ensure that medical facilities are able to operate as autonomously as possible so that patients can receive all the necessary medical care uninterruptedly and in full. Modern technologies allow us to strengthen our energy security, including through the installation of solar power plants. We are grateful to our partners for their effective cooperation and support. The energy equipment installed at 130 primary healthcare facilities will help ensure that our patients have access to medical services regardless of the circumstances and Russia’s criminal actions,” said Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine.

The procurement and installation of the solar power plant will take place within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank “Strengthening Healthcare and Saving Lives in Ukraine HEAL”.
