The Ukrainian Solar Energy Association (ASEU) and the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening scientific and technical capacity and implementing innovations in the field of renewable energy. The document was signed by Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the ASEU Board, and Vitalii Babak, Director of the Institute.

Science and Business United for Sustainable Development

The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step in developing partnerships between the scientific community and businesses to build a new model of sustainable growth for the energy sector. Both parties plan to combine efforts in scientific research, educational initiatives, and professional training, as well as promote the implementation of modern technological solutions in the solar energy sector.

The document provides for joint scientific studies, organization of conferences, seminars, and training sessions, as well as the creation of educational materials and scientific publications. One of the key areas of cooperation is the development of a system for recycling and reusing solar panels, particularly within the European project RETRIEVE (Reintegration of photovoltaic panel waste back into manufacturing as high-value products), implemented under the Horizon Europe program and funded by the European Union.

Certification of Installers and New Industry Standards

In addition, the parties agreed to create a certification system for professional installers and companies providing photovoltaic system installation services. The initiative includes the development of qualification standards, evaluation criteria, and information campaigns to promote certified specialists.

«This Memorandum demonstrates how business and science can work together to advance renewable energy in Ukraine. Cooperation with the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences will foster technological development, strengthen human capital, and increase trust in the solar energy market», –  noted Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the ASEU Board.

The cooperation under this Memorandum creates a platform for new scientific and practical initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of Ukraine’s energy system and integrating it into the European energy network.

For Global 100% RE Ukraine, this partnership is a vivid example of how the synergy between science, education, and business forms the foundation for a green transformation. Such cooperation helps build a competent ecosystem of professionals, develop innovative technologies, and strengthen Ukraine’s position within the European energy landscape.
