Aravana Energy Proposes 22 MW Wind Farm and Battery Complex in Southern Ukraine

Aravana Energy LLC is at the public consultation stage for a hybrid renewable energy facility in Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv region. According to documentation filed with the national Environmental Impact Assessment registry and reported by ExPro, the developer intends to construct a 22 MW wind farm paired with a 120 MWh battery energy storage system within the Berezanka municipality.

The project will be situated on a 10.77-hectare site outside the main settlement, requiring a formal rezoning from agricultural to energy-designated land. Aravana Energy plans to install 11 wind turbines, evaluating models such as the Vestas V80 and V90. The selected 2 MW turbines will feature 100-meter hub heights and rotor diameters between 80 and 90 meters. Each unit is projected to generate approximately 4 GWh annually over a 25-year operational lifespan. Power will be evacuated via a newly constructed transformer station linked to the existing Berezan substation.

Following the wind phase, the company plans to deploy a 30 MW containerized battery storage system capable of providing storage of up to four hours. Aravana Energy, registered in Mykolaiv since 2017, is equally owned by local investors Edgard Sergeev and Raisa Kivel.
