WindEnergy Hamburg Confirms 100 GW Offshore Milestone and Launches First Storage Pavilion

WindEnergy Hamburg drew more than 43,000 industry professionals from over a hundred countries, affirming the German port city’s place at the heart of global wind power. The event carried several concrete milestones that reflect the current state of the market.

Among them was formal confirmation that global offshore wind has now reached 100 GW of installed capacity — a benchmark recognised at the exhibition itself.

The organizers also expanded the programme for the first time to include a dedicated pavilion for battery energy storage systems. The new venue signals storage’s growing importance in ensuring the stability of future energy infrastructure.

Policy discussions at the event put broader strategic questions in focus. Beatriz Yordi of the European Commission stressed that advancing the green transition and scaling up renewables is directly connected to supply security, geopolitics, mass electrification, and overall energy resilience.

The Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) is present at the exhibition with a stand at B1.OG.410, where it is showcasing member companies and presenting the potential of Ukraine’s wind sector to an international audience.
