EU Wind Turbine Exports Top Green-Equipment Rankings as Imports Accelerate
European manufacturers shipped €3.1 billion worth of wind turbines to markets outside the EU in 2025, while imports reached only €0.7 billion — meaning exports were more than four times the value of inbound equipment. The figures, published by Eurostat, place wind turbines at the top of the EU’s green-equipment export rankings for the year.
Export performance was steady but measured: values rose 10.8% year-on-year, while physical shipment volumes increased 9.5%. Imports expanded at a considerably faster pace, with the value of inbound wind turbine equipment climbing 40.6% to reach €0.7 billion; physical volumes surged 69.0% over the same period.

The composition of EU wind turbine imports also shifted markedly. China’s share of shipments into the bloc rose from 41.3% to 59.6%, moving it well ahead of India, which held a 22.2% share. The jump in Chinese supply arrived alongside the broader import acceleration recorded across both volume and value measures during the year.
