INTERVIEW: ANEW-LIFE: Financing Green Recovery in Communities – Grants, Loans, PPAs, and ESCOs

Grants, loans, PPAs, and ESCOs are different mechanisms for implementing green recovery projects in communities.

Within the framework of the ANEW-LIFE project, Nizhyn, Zhytomyr, and Kalush are working on six pilot projects—two projects in each community.

As Viktoriia Kovalenko, General Manager for Sustainable Development at DiXi Group, explains, various financing mechanisms are being developed for each project together with European partners.

These include grant and loan financing, PPAs, and ESCO mechanisms.

This approach makes it possible not to limit oneself to a single funding source, but to look for financial models that fit the specifics of a particular energy project and can be used for further scaling of green recovery in communities.
