This is the second such agreement in Ukraine – the first one was signed by Chornomorskvodokanal, one of the largest utilities in Odesa region.
Korostenvodokanal will receive 12% of green electricity from the 80 kW solar power plant without any capital investment, which will save more than UAH 600 thousand annually.
The solar power plant will guarantee the utility company energy security regardless of emergency or scheduled power outages.
The initiative was implemented with the support of the UNDP Ukraine/UNDP in Ukraine and the Global Environment Facility project “Removing Barriers to Promoting Energy Efficiency Investments in Public Buildings in Small and Medium-Sized Cities in Ukraine through the ESCO Mechanism”.
