On February 25, 2025, the first introductory seminar of the ANEW-LIFE project was held in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. The project, launched in partnership with the European Union, is focused on developing innovative financial mechanisms to support the sustainable energy transition of cities.

The ANEW-LIFE project brings together both Ukrainian organizations and international partners. In addition to Global 100% RE Ukraine, the project involves Ekoklub, DiXi Group, and the municipalities of Zhytomyr, Nizhyn, and Kalush. International partners include companies and organizations from Germany, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, and Romania.

The goal of the project is to create tools to support the “green” transition of cities, specifically to develop and test innovative financing mechanisms aimed at energy infrastructure reconstruction and decarbonization. Once tested in pilot cities, these mechanisms will be scaled to at least 10 cities in Ukraine and 10 cities in Europe.

During the February 25 seminar in Nizhyn, three key panels were presented:

  1. The needs of Ukrainian cities in sustainable energy transition.

  2. Available financial instruments for developing clean energy in Ukraine.

  3. Strategies and plans for sustainable development after the project’s completion.

The seminar was moderated by the Director of Global 100% RE Ukraine, Oleksiy Korchmit.

The project will run until September 30, 2027. As Oleksiy Korchmit mentioned, over the next three years, each city will receive a catalog of green investment projects and modern financial instruments for implementation.
