Ukrainian Red Cross Transfers Nearly 1,000 Solar Panels to Bucha Community
The Ukrainian Red Cross has transferred close to a thousand solar panels, totalling nearly 600 kW of capacity, to the Bucha community in Kyiv Oblast. The equipment will serve modular settlements in Bucha and Vorzel that house internally displaced persons, according to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Bucha City Council.
The humanitarian shipment covers four sites accommodating 452 residents in total. Beyond the panels themselves, the package includes 37 hybrid inverters and 185 batteries with a combined storage capacity of approximately 1 MWh. The integrated system will capture the solar energy produced on-site and make it available to residents during power outages, reducing dependence on the central grid and lowering electricity costs for the community.
A contractor is expected to begin installation within the coming days.
Separately, Irpin Central City Hospital is set to receive a 92 kW solar station paired with 100 kWh of battery storage under the state programme “Промінь надії” (Ray of Hope).
