UWEA presented Ukraine at the World Wind Energy Association webinar

Halyna Schmidt, member of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and Vice President of the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), spoke about the trends in the development of wind energy in Ukraine as part of the webinar “Wind Energy Around the World”, held on April 10. She told about situation si the industry both before full-scale Russian war against Ukraine and during active warfare.

Galina Schmidt drew attention to the high level of resistance of wind power plants to missile and drone attacks due to the scattering of wind turbines on the territory. According to her, in regions with highly developed wind energy infrastructure, wind generation successfully replaces traditional thermal power, damaged or destroyed by enemy attacks.
