According to the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, a meeting of the UWEA Board was held on March 25, 2025, following which it was decided to make a number of changes to the Association’s Charter.An interesting power plant will be built in France that will run on tidal energy.

One of the key innovations is the expansion of the UWEA’s scope of activities to the distributed generation sector and energy storage facilities (systems).

This decision is due to the dynamic development of the energy storage market in Ukraine and the active participation of UWEA member companies in the implementation of projects with energy storage systems. In modern realities, such solutions are becoming an integral part of the new energy architecture – decentralized, sustainable and flexible.

Expanding the UWEA’s mandate will allow us to

Provide professional support to the participants of the EE segment;
represent their interests in the dialogue with government agencies, the Regulator, and international partners
promote the formation of market conditions for the integration of EMS into the overall power system;
attract investments and expertise for the development of decentralized generation;

“We see how the energy landscape of Ukraine is rapidly changing. Wind energy, as a key segment of renewable generation, is increasingly being integrated with energy storage solutions. This is not only a technological necessity, but also a strategic step to improve the country’s energy security. The UWEA is adapting to new challenges and is ready to professionally support the participants of this promising market,” said Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board.

The Association emphasizes that it will continue to be a platform for bringing together leading market players and developing sustainable energy in Ukraine.
